Aquarium asks for public's help naming baby otter

VIRGINIA BEACH — The Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center is proud to announce that it has adopted a baby boy otter.

The otter currently weighs about eight pounds.  He was born February 5 and was found alone near St. George, South Carolina.  Experts say he appeared to be abandoned by his mother.

The little guy does not have a name.  The aquarium is holding a contest and will ultimately let the public decide.

The deadline for the contest is June 15.  To enter a submission, click here.  Plent of suggestions have also come in to WVEC’s Facebook page.
