Madeira Beach, Florida – The big attraction at John’s Pass has always been the water and the fish. For decades, people with poles have flocked to the bridge and commercial fishing boats have docked there.

“There were little wooden white cottages up on block. There was a laundry mat, a gas station,” describes Patricia Hubbard, whose family started a deep-sea fishing business there in the mid-’70’s.

The original fishing village is now a tourist destination with nearly 100 shops and restaurants, but water and fish may continue to be a big attraction there.
