Aquarium folks active in area

Anna George, director of the Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute, told members of the Kiwanis Club of Dalton recently that the aquarium doesn’t it consider itself as a Chattanooga aquarium, but as “the Southeast’s aquarium.”

She stressed the importance of clean water.

“It doesn’t matter where you are, you are always downstream from someone,” she said. “It really is important to me when I speak to emphasize the interconnection of water and how important it is wherever we are that we are taking care of our most precious natural resource. And to me that is water.”
