Aquarium Hosting Event Teaching People How to Eat Lionfish


They are being called the new kings of the Gulf of Mexico, with no known predators, until now.

Folks at the Texas State Aquarium say the beautiful, but venomous, lionfish have invaded the Gulf of Mexico, and the one predator that can help dwindle down their population in the area is us humans.

That’s why the Aquarium will host the Incredible Edible Lionfish dining event April 15 to sample and learn how to cook the fish.

“The toxins are located in the tip of those spines,”
