Kelly Tarlton’s aquarium today marked a global first with 10
baby spiny sea dragons hatching in captivity at the complex.

The aquarium holds the world’s only public display of the rare
and majestic creatures.

Spiny sea dragons are related to the seahorse and are
distinguishable by their vibrant orange pink and yellow colouring
and long snouts and horizontal swimming pattern.

Like the seahorse, sea dragon young or “fry” are carried by the
male of the species. Once the gestation period is complete, he will
expel fully
