Clearwater aquarium study: Lower cost, high potential

CLEARWATER (FOX 13) –

Clearwater Marine Aquarium executives say a feasibility study done for its proposed downtown facility brought back positive results.

The facility is actually expected to cost millions less than first thought – the original estimated price at $160 million.

That could mean more money to care for the animals, CMA executive David Yates said Friday at a press conference.

FOX 13’s Steve Nichols reports that net profit for the facility could be around $5 million year, based on the latest figures. Voters have already passed
