Endangered Kemp’s Ridley turtle recuperating at Mystic Aquarium

Mystic – One of the most highly endangered sea turtles has been recovering at Mystic Aquarium this week after injuries from the metal prong of a large fishing lure that became imbedded in its cheek.

The Kemp’s Ridley turtle was found Aug. 6, upside down in a pile of seaweed on a beach in Narragansett, R.I., Janelle Schuh, stranding coordinator at the aquarium, said Friday.
