Explore St. Lucie County Aquarium in the dark

Ever wonder what happens when the aquarium lights go dark?

You can find out Nov. 14 at the Smithsonian Marine Ecosystems Exhibit in the St. Lucie County Aquarium on South Hutchinson Island in Fort Pierce. The program, which begins at 6 p.m., gives visitors a chance to have pizza with Smithsonian staff and hear a brief presentation before exploring the tanks with flashlights.

Aquarium After Dark is recommended for adults and children ages 5 and up. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children (and $2 less for aquarium members).

A second Aquarium After Dark program is scheduled for Dec.
