Gulfstream reopens poker room after aquarium flood

The poker room of Gulfstream Park Racing Casino reopened Saturday after a ruptured aquarium forced it to close over Labor Day weekend.

The room had been closed since Sept. 2, when a massive rupture in the largest free-standing acrylic aquarium in Florida sent nearly 13,000 gallons of salt water gushing out into the bar area of the Hallandale Beach casino.

The dramatic flood forced 100 customers to run for safety and closed two floors of slot machines, other games and the poker room. The saltwater required a hazmat team.
