Long Beach aquarium protects pups in peril

LONG BEACH — They come from the chilly Arctic tundra but they’re quickly warming the hearts of visitors at the Aquarium of the Pacific.

The aquarium has welcomed two male Arctic fox pups that are now on view in the Molina Animal Care Center.

And at just seven weeks old, they’re hungry balls of gray and white fur that play, fight and nip just like a puppy.

“They might be the cutest animals we’ve ever gotten,” said Aquarium employee Claire Atkinson.
