Vancouver Aquarium cares for sick turtle

A rare green sea turtle is in the care of Vancouver Aquarium after it was rescued off Combers Beach in Pacific National Park Reserve on Nov. 30.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada deployed its Marine Mammal Response Network when the young male turtle was found in distress just off the beach by a visitor to the reserve.

“There was very little heart activity when the turtle arrived at the Aquarium yesterday but, because cold-stunned sea turtles can have a very faint heart beat, it is too early to pronounce a clear diagnosis,� Dr. Martin Haulena said in a statement
