Vancouver Aquarium Releases Rehabilitated Harbour Porpoise Marking First Successful Release of a Rescued Cetecean

VANCOUVER, Sept. 10, 2013 /CNW/ – After more than five months of veterinary treatment at the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Mammal Rescue Centre, presented by Port Metro Vancouver, Levi, a rescued harbour porpoise, was carefully lowered into the waters of Saanich Inlet this morning, before slapping his tail against the surface and taking off in a flash. He is the first cetacean (i.e., porpoise, dolphin or whale) to have been successfully rehabilitated at the Rescue Centre and released back to the wild.
